Zimní stadion Prostějov is a stadium in Prostějov. Team LHK Jestřábi Prostějov plays here its league Chance Liga.
The main entrance of the stadium is located on the east side of the building and is accessible from the U Stadionu Street. The entrance is connected with a gatehouse and three cash registers. There is also a car park for about 100 cars. Of course, bicycle racks are also available. Next to the stadium is a restaurant with a hotel.
The auditorium consisting of two longitudinal tribunes has a capacity of 5,125 people. Both of the tribunes have a bench seat with a capacity of 1,500 people. Above them is a sector for standing viewers. The stadium has a dedicated sector for fans of a visiting team with a capacity of several hundred people, separated from the rest of the stadium by metal barriers. The sector has its own separate entrance and a separate buffet.
In 2005, there was a modernization of the ice surface. The builders laid and concreted 26km of cooling pipes. They laid a 8,000m2 of waterproofing and 4000m2 of thermal insulation. All of that was concreted with 200m3 of concrete. Barriers were also replaced, now there is 170m of the barriers with tempered protective glass. The benches, penalty boxes and equipment for timekeepers were refurbished.
Part of the renovation of the multipurpose hall was the relocation of the main entrance to the east front wall and a folding deck floor was added. Thanks to it, it is possible to create a stage on the ice for just about eight hours. It is not only for sports but also for social and cultural events. In 2011, it was decided to carry out the reconstruction of the ice illumination. Obsolete discharge lights with a capacity of only 450lux were replaced by fluorescent lamps that can reach up to 1,200lux, which is sufficient for live television broadcasts.
The reconstruction costs about 5,000,000 CZK, and, apart from improving the lightness of the stadium, it also allows for fine regulation of the lightning and, together with the colored lights, it can create a variable light show. In 2014, large screen was added. Fans can see here a numerous interesting informations before and during the hockey match. For example line-ups of both teams, replays or live video of events on the ice or in the auditorium.
