Professional[]

On March 23, 2010, Cohen was signed as a free agent to a two-year entry level deal by the Colorado Avalanche. He was then signed to an amateur try-out contract with Avalanche AHL affiliate, the Lake Erie Monsters, for the remainder of the season. Zach scored his first professional goal in a 5-4 defeat over the San Antonio Rampage on March 26, 2010.
