Yorick Treille (born on July 15, 1980 in Cannes) is a French retired ice hockey right winger. Treille was drafted 195th overall by the Chicago Blackhawks in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft. He is currently the head coach of the French National Junior Team and the assistant coach of the French National Team.

His brother Sacha Treille also plays hockey.

Club career[]

Treille's youth club is the Grenoble. In 1995, Treille moved to North America to play one season with the Medicine Hat Hounds U15 AAA of the AMBHL.

In the 1997-98 season played Treille with the Notre Dame Hounds of the SJHL.

After that spent Treille four seasons with the UMass-Lowell of the NCAA (third and fourth season as the team's captain).

Treille began the 2002-03 season with the Norfolk Admirals of the AHL but after 27 games played, he moved to the HIFK of the SM-liiga for the remainder of the season. He played there 5 games.

Treille then returned to the Norfolk Admirals of the AHL for the 2003-04 season. The following season spent Treille with the Providence Bruins of the AHL.

In 2005 - 2007 played Treille with the Genève-Servette HC of the NLA.

In the 2007-08 season played Treille with ERC Ingolstadt of the DEL.

After that, Treille spent two seasons with the HC Vítkovice Steel of the Tipsport Extraliga.

In 2010 - 2012, he was playing with the HC Sparta Praha of the Tipsport Extraliga.

Treille also began the 2012-13 season with the HC Sparta Praha of the Tipsport Extraliga but after just 5 games played, Treille moved to the Piráti Chomutov of the Tipsport Extraliga. He played there 24 games before moving to the EC Salzburg of the EBEL. He finished there this season with 3 regular season games and 12 play-off games played.

Next two seasons played Treile with the Grenoble of the Ligue Magnus. In the 2014-15 season became Treille the Ligue Magnus Cup champion.

In 2015 - 2017 played Treille with the Rouen of the Ligue Magnus. In the 2015-16 season became Treille the French champion, the French Cup champion, the Continental Cup champion and won the Albert Hassler Trophy for the Ligue Magnus' best French player.

Treille then spent the last two seasons of his career with the Mulhouse of the Ligue Magnus. He was also named a captain at the 2018 Ligue Magnus All-Star Game.

International career[]

Treille played with the French National Team at the 1997 and 1998 European U18 Championships "Pool B" (being the player who scored most points (10) at the 1998 tournament), 1998 and 1999 World Junior Championships "Pool B", 2000, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016 World Championships (being named one of the top 3 players on the French team at the 2010 and 2013 tournaments), 2001, 2002, 2003 and 2007 World Championships Division I (winning silver at the 2001 and 2002 tournaments, winning gold at the 2003 and 2007 tournaments and being the most penalized player of the tournament at the 2001 tournament with 33 penalty minutes and at the 2003 tournament with 55 penalty minutes) and at the 2002 Olympics.

As the assistant coach, Treille represented France at the 2019 World Championship.

In the 2019-20 season, he was named the Ligue Magnus Coach of the Year.
