The World United Hockey League was a Canadian junior ice hockey league founded in November 2014 by teams at odds with the decisions of the Canadian International Hockey League.  The league appears to have folded in late summer or early fall of 2015 as the league had announced some teams were holding tryouts and then no further information was released on either the league website or its twitter page.

History[]

The Collingwood Ice, Milton Cobras, and Toronto Hockey Academy left the Canadian International Hockey League mid-November to pursue their own interests. They were joined by a newly formed team called the St. Charles North Stars which came from the ashes of the CIHL's folded St. Charles Spirit.

First official league game was played on November 15, 2014 in Toronto, as the Milton Cobras defeated the Toronto Hockey Academy 7-4.

The Colborne Cramahe Hawks joined the league after folding in the CIHL and then restart operations and join the league.

The Collingwood Ice folded in January 2015 citing a lack of local support.

Two teams folded after the 2014-15 season, the Colborne Cramahe Hawks and the Milton Cobras

The league announced two expansion teams for the 2015-16 season.  The Acton Rhinos and Mississauga Red Dogs were both announced in early July.  The Mississauga franchise appears to have fallen through as the team's website and twitter pages have been deleted.  The league only list 3 teams on the standings pages for the league for the 2015-16 season.

On September 14, 2015 the league announced the addition of the Lake of the Bays Snappers to be based out of the Baysville Arena in Baysville Ontario.

The annoucement of the Snappers franchise appears to have been the last act of the league as no further information was released on the website after the announcement.
