Woolwich Memorial Centre

The Woolwich Memorial Centre is an indoor arena located in Elmira, Ontario.  The arena opened in 2009 and contains two NHL-sized (200'x85') sheets of ice.  The primary arena is dedicated to Elmira Native Dan Snyder who died October 5, 2003 from injuries sustained in a traffic accident while a member of the Atlanta Thrashers of the National Hockey League.  The Thrashers held a practice and were on hand for the dedication of  the larger rink on October 18, 2009.  The larger arena can seat 1,300 and is home to the Elmira Sugar Kings of the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League.
