The Winterland Arena was a former hockey venue located in San Francisco, California. The building was built in 1928. It was originally and ice skating rink but it was later converted into a multipose venue in the 1930's. The arena was used by the San Francisco Shamrocks of the Pacific Coast Hockey League. The building was later converted into a music venue. It last show was held on December 31, 1978 with a concert by the Grateful Dead. It was demolished late in 1985.
