William James Brossart (born May 29, 1949) is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman who played in the National Hockey League (NHL) with the Philadelphia Flyers, Toronto Maple Leafs and Washington Capitals.
He was chosen 28th overall by the Philadelphia Flyers in the 1969 NHL Amateur Draft. Brossart spent two seasons with the Quebec Aces and then moved up to the Flyers in 1971-72. He scored 4 assists in 42 games.
After that he played mostly in the minors. A trade to the Toronto Maple Leafs in 1973 did not alter that. The Leafs traded him to the Washington Capitals where he saw significant NHL ice time.
However the team was woeful and Brossart had a Plus-minus rating of -49 in 1975-76. One more season in the minors and Brossart retired in 1977.
He played in 129 NHL games, scoring one goal and 14 assists.
