The Wichita Jr. Thunder are an Amateur Athletic Union-sanctioned junior ice hockey team based in Wichita, Kansas and plays home games at the Wichita Ice Center. The team is a member of the Western States Hockey League (WSHL).
In addition to games played during the regular season, the Jr. Thunder play an exhibition game against the Wichita Thunder Alumni at the Intrust Bank Arena.
The Jr. Thunder won their first WSHL championship in 2017, defeating the Idaho Jr. Steelheads 4-3 in the finals. A year after winning the championship, the Jr. Thunder was the only team in the WSHL to not qualify for the playoffs in the 2017-18 Season.
