The Wetaskiwin Canadians were a junior team. They lost the final in the 1947-48 Alberta Junior Playoffs and the semi final in the 1948-49 Alberta Junior Playoffs. Due to being refuse entry into the Edmonton City Junior League for the 1947-48 season the team played as a member of the Northern Alberta Intermediate Hockey League and then entered the Provincial playoffs as an independent team.
