The Union Garnet Chargers formerly the Dutchmen are a team in the ECAC Hockey League in Men's Division I. The Union Dutchwomen play in the ECAC Hockey League in Women's Division I.
Men's program[]
The men's program originated in 1904. For 1904-05 the team played all games on the road. The team would play games outdoors on the football and baseball fields on campus until 1949 when the Houston Field House opened. Times Union article on history of Union men's ice hockey program
