Ty Wishart (born May 19, 1988 in Comox, British Columbia) is an Canadian professional ice hockey player currently playing in the New York Islanders organization.
Playing career[]
Wishart was drafted 16th overall by the San Jose Sharks in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft from the Prince George Cougars of the WHL.
On July 4, 2008 Wishart's rights were traded to the Tampa Bay Lightning, along with defenseman Matt Carle, and 2 draft picks, in exchange for Tampa Bay's defensemen Dan Boyle and Brad Lukowich.[1]
On January 1, 2011, Wishart was traded by the Lightning to the New York Islanders for goaltender Dwayne Roloson.[2]
Wishart scored his first NHL goal on February 13, 2011 against Ryan Miller of the Buffalo Sabres.
