Tennessee State University is an American university located in Nashville, Tennessee. TSU is a historically black college and university (HBCU). The university announced in May 2021 that they were conducting a feasibility study in coordination with the Nashville Predators and College Hockey Inc. to determine if the university would add a varsity men's hockey team. If the university does decide to add a hockey program, they would be the first HBCU to do so. It would also be the first NCAA Division I men's hockey program in the state of Tennessee.
