Canada Winter Games

Men's
Held every four years, the Canada Winter Games
are a showcase of the best under 16 aged players
in the country, representing their home province.
The tournament replaced the World U-17 Hockey
Challenge every 4 years through the 1990s and 2000s,
before it became a under 16 event beginning in 2011.

National Women's U-18 Championship

Played each year in November except seasons that the Canada Winter Games are held.
Eight provincial and regional teams – Alberta, Atlantic, British Columbia, Manitoba, Ontario Blue, Ontario Red, Quebec and Saskatchewan – gather for the national championship - a five games in five days sprint for gold.

WHL Cup

Played each year at the end of October except seasons that the Canada Winter Games are held.
On the third weekend in October, the four Western Provincial Hockey Associations Hockey Alberta, BC Hockey, Hockey Manitoba and the Saskatchewan Hockey Association in partnership with the WHL, hold the WHL Cup. The WHL Cup features the highest rated players in the under 16 age category from the four Western Provinces. The four team round robin tournament format is the first step in the Hockey Canada Program of Excellence.
