The Summerside Crystals were a senior and junior team.
The senior team first appears to have played in 1897 as the Summerside Hockey Club. The team would then be known as the Summerside Stars until being named the Crystals in 1900. The team merged with the Summerside Pioneers in 1902 to form the Summerside Crystal-Pioneers until 1906.
The senior team won the Prince Edward Island Senior Hockey League championship in 1924-25, 1927-28, 1928-29, and 1930-31 and in each case entered the Maritimes Senior Playoffs.
The team would play in several PEI Intermediate Playoffs during the 1940's and 1950's.
The team would play until the early 1960's.
Junior Team[]
The first Junior team played in the 1934-35 Prince Edward Island Junior Playoffs losing the provincial final. They also lost the provincial final in the 1935-36 Prince Edward Island Junior Playoffs. They would finish in second for the 1936-37 Summerside Junior League.
Another junior team played in the Island Junior Hockey League in the 1970's and 1980's.
