36-37SudTigers

The Frood Mining Company, as did other mining companies in the Sudbury district, sponsored a senior hockey team in the 1930's and 1940's.

The Tigers won the 1936-37 Northern Ontario Senior Playoffs and then advanced to the 1936-37 Eastern Canada Allan Cup Playoffs. Since the rules of the Canadian Amateur Hockey Association forbade teams named after companies, the team was known as the Sudbury Tigers.

They went on to win the 1936-37 Allan Cup Final. After that they also went on to win the 1936-37 Toronto International Tournament.

The Tigers also won the 1942-43 Northern Ontario Senior Playoffs.
