Stony Plain is a town of about 12,000 people in northern Alberta, Canada. The town is seperate from the Stony Plain Indian Reserve #135.  It is located just west of Edmonton. Stony Plain has hosted the Allan Cup in 1995, 1999, and 2007.

Local resident Jesse Myshak was the subject of national media attention in late December 2016 after driving the zamboni home (which he used for his backyark rink from the shop at which he worked and stopping at the Tim Hortons drive-thru window for a coffee.
