Steve Macdonald is a former Canadian hockey defenceman and coach.

Playing Career[]

During his playing career he would play junior hockey for the Dauphin Kings of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League and the Fort Garry/Fort Rouge Twins of the Manitoba Major Junior Hockey League. Hee would play one season of American collegiate hockey with the Lawrence Vikings men's ice hockey team for the 2002-03 season.

Coaching[]

After completing his playing career hew would serve as an assistant coach for the River East Midget AA hockey team in 2003-04 and then for Fort Richmond Collegiate in 2004-05. He has also served as an assistant coach with the Ottawa Gee-Gees women's ice hockey team for 2005-06. He was an assistant coach with the Balmoral Hall Blazers (JWHL) team before becoming the head coach and director of hockey operations for the 2010-11 season. He would also serve as an assistant coach for the Canadian women's U-18 national team at the 2010 IIHF World Women's U18 Championship in which the team won the gold medal. He would serve as an assistant coach of the St. Cloud State Huskies women's ice hockey team from 2011 to 2019 when he became the head coach. He would serve as head coach from 2019 to 2022 compiling a 21-53-5 record.
