Steven P. Gotaas (born May 10, 1967 in Camrose, Alberta) was a professional ice hockey player who played 49 games in the National Hockey League. He played with the Minnesota North Stars and Pittsburgh Penguins.

He played junior hockey for the Prince Albert Raiders from 1983 to 1987, wiining the Memorial Cup in 1985. The Pittsburgh Penguins chose him 86th overall in the 1985 NHL Entry Draft.

Turning pro in 1987, Gotaas split the season between the Penguins and the Muskegon Lumberjacks. The Penguins traded him to the Minnesota North Stars in 1988. He only played 13 games with the Stars until 1992.

In that year Gotaas went to Europe and split the 1992-93 season between the EG Dusseldorfer team in Germany and the Klagenfurt AC team in Austria. He played the 1993-94 season for the Las Vegas Thunder and then retired.

In the NHL, Gotaas played in 49 games and scored 6 goals and 9 assists.
