Steele community centre
The Steele Community Centre is an indoor arena and fitness centre located in Gander, Newfoundland.  The ice arena seats 1,100 and contains an NHL sized rink (200'x85').  The facility was opened on May 5, 2000. The facility was previously named the Gander Community Centre.

The facility is home to the Gander Flyers senior hockey team.

The facility became an emergency "walk-in fridge" on September 11, 2001 when 38 planes were forced to land at the Gander Airport containing over 6,500 passengers and crew and no other cold storage facility was readily available in the area to handle the large amount of donations made by local residents.
