Stand Off is an unincorporated community located in southern Alberta within the Blood Indian Reserve Number 148. The community is inhabited by the Blood First Natons (also referred to as the Kainai). The land makes up the largest reserve in Canada and the second most populous (12,027 as of the 2016 Census). The community is located between the city of Lethbridge (43 km to the northeast) and the town of Cardston, Alberta (30 km to the south)
