The 1933-34 Saint John Beavers

History[]

The Saint John Beavers were a senior, junior and a major team.

They won the Maritimes Senior Championship in 1938-39, 1945-46, and 1952-53.

The Beavers also made it to the 1951-52 Alexander Cup Final which they lost to the Quebec Aces.

On the 1955-56 ACSHL Final; The series was tied at 4 games each with one tie. Fredericton objected to the tenth game being played at St John, saying that five games had already been played there. Five Fredericton players carried it further - they refused to board the bus to go to the game. This caused the Capitals to default the game and the series. The team later sued these players.
