The Southern Alberta Junior League ran for three season - 1945-46, 1946-47, and 1947-48.
In 1945-46, the Calgary Tuxedo Ramblers won the league title. Three of the league's teams entered the 1945-46 Alberta Junior Playoffs.
In the next two seasons, the champion, Lethbridge Native Sons entered the 1946-47 Alberta Junior Playoffs and the 1947-48 Alberta Junior Playoffs.
In 1948-49 the league became the Western Canada Junior Hockey League (1949-56) with the addition of the Moose Jaw Canucks and the Regina Pats from Saskatchewan.
