The South Grenville Rangers are a Junior C team playing in the National Capital Junior Hockey League based out of the Ingredion Center in Prescott, Ontario. The team was added to the league to replace the Prescott Flyers from the Central Canada Hockey League Tier 2 in 2017 when several the league affiliations and locations changed due to teams being sold to new owners. The team was based out of the Ingredion Centre in Cardinal from 2018 to 2023.

Formation[]

As part of a series of sales and relocations of teams in the Central Canada Hockey League Tier 2 (CCHL2) and the National Capital Junior Hockey League (NCJHL), several teams were relocated to new cities. The new edition of the South Grenville Rangers was formed to replace the Prescott Flyers in town, who were purchased by the Pembroke Lumber Kings organization and were relocated to Cobden, Ontario where they became the Whitewater Kings in the CCHL2. The team was originally located out of Prescott for its' first season before relocating to the Ingredion Centre in Cardinal for the next five seasons and then moving back to the Prescott Arena in Prescott for the 2023-24 season.

The original South Grenville Rangers were a Junior "B" team encompassing South Grenville, Ontario, a region in eastern Ontario. The team played its home games based out of Prescott, Ontario. They play out of the Eastern Ontario Junior Hockey League.

During the summer of 2013, the team became the Prescott Flyers. That team was sold during the 2017 off season and relocated to Cobden, Ontario where they became part of the Pembroke Lumber Kings of the Central Canada Hockey League's development system.
