2012-2015: Soo Firehawks

The Soo Firehawks are a USA Hockey-sanctioned ice hockey team from Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan based out of the Big Bear Ice Arena. The team was founded in 2012. The team joined the United States Premier Hockey League along with the rest of the Midwest Junior Hockey League membership for the 2015-16 season.

On August 20, 2015  the teams website announced “Due to circumstances beyond our control, the Soo Firehawks Junior Hockey Club will cease operations for the 2015-2016 season.

The staff and ownership have decided their experience and resources can be better utilized to promote and mentor the local youth hockey association.

This Saturday’s golf outing at Tanglewood Marsh Golf Course will go on as scheduled and any proceeds will benefit the local youth hockey association.

We decline any further public comment regarding our decision while we explore all available options for the organization.”
