History[]
The Smiths Falls Rideaus were a senior team in Smiths Falls, Ontario.
They originally played in the Rideau Group and won that league title in 1950-51. They went on to win the Ottawa District Senior Championship and lose the semi final in the 1950-51 Eastern Canada Allan Cup Playoffs.
They then joined the Eastern Canada Senior Hockey League in 1951 and won the league title in 1952-53. That unfortunately bankrupt the team as they had to travel a fair bit in two rounds of the 1952-53 Eastern Canada Allan Cup Playoffs.
A revival of the team in 1953-54 in the New York-Ontario League did not last the season.
In 1957-58 the independent (non-league) team entered the 1957-58 Ottawa District Senior Playoffs. This led to a team in the Interprovincial Senior Hockey League for three seasons.
