Sir George Williams Georgians

"Georgians" was the name of the sports teams of Sir George Williams University, located in Montreal, Quebec. They had been known as the "Maroons" until 1964. In 1975 Sir George Williams University merged with Loyola College to form Concordia University.

History[]

The Georgians played in the Ottawa-St. Lawrence Conference through the 1970-71 season, at which time the leagues operating in Ontario and Quebec were arranged along provincial lines. From 1971-72 onwards, the Georgians joined the Quebec Universities Athletic Association. They were also in the Canadian Intercollegiate Athletic Union (known as Canadian Interuniversity Sport from 2001 and U Sports from 2016) throughout.
