The Sioux Lookout Bombers are a Canadian Junior A level team that began play in the Superior International Junior Hockey League with the 2022-23 season. The team is based out of the Sioux Lookout Memorial Arena in Sioux Lookout, Ontario.
Establishment of Team[]
On April 22, 2021 the SIJHL announced the addition of a new franchise in Sioux Lookout, Ontario for the 2022-23 season. The application is conditional as the ownership group obtains membership in Hockey Northwestern Ontario, which should be taken care of within a few weeks of the league's announcement of the team.[1]
Naming and Colours[]
named after the water bombers that protect Ontario's northwest from the threat of forest fires each year and patterned after the former Queen Elizabeth High School team's green and gold colour scheme.[2]
