Shelby Bram (born August 20, 1993) is a professional women's ice hockey player from Manitoba. She currently is under contract for the 2015-16 inaugural season of the Buffalo Beauts of the National Women's Hockey League.

She has represented Canada in numerous international tournaments, and has represented Manitoba in national tournaments.

Playing career

At the age of 12, she suffered a broken collarbone when one of the boys she was playing against hit her. Manitoba head coach Tony Franklin nicknamed her the waterbug because she never stops and is always moving and can never be clamped down.

Manitoba

Bram was part of the roster for Manitoba's Under 18 team that participated at the 2011 Canada Winter Games (women's) tournament. Her fourteen assists led all skaters in the tournament. She finished with three goals and fourteen assists for seventeen points (third overall in tournament scoring).

NCAA

In February 2011, Bram committed to join the Mercyhurst Lakers of the CHA. Shelby Bram would score her first career NCAA goal in a 7-0 triumph over the Lindenwood Lions. The game marked the first time that the Lindenwood Lady Lions ice hockey program hosted an NCAA Division I opponent in their home arena.

During her senior season (2014-15), Bram was named as Mercyhurst's team captain.

Canada

At the 2009 Under 18 Nationals, Bram competed for Team Manitoba and ended with a fourth place finish. Bram also competed at the 2009 Manitoba Games and finished in third place. Bram attended the Canadian National Under 22 Summer Strength and Conditioning Camp in 2010. Of note, her sister, Bailey was also at the camp.

On December 30, 2010, in an exhibition vs. the AIK Bantam boys team (at Husby Ishall Arena) from Sweden, Bram had an assist in a 4-2 victory. In the first game of the 2011 IIHF Under 18 worlds, Bram scored a goal.

Bram participated with the Under 22 program for the first time at the 2012 Meco Cup. Her older sister, Bailey Bram was a teammate. Shelby was on a line with Isabel Menard and Nicole Kosta. In the first game of the tournament, she earned an assist.

She was a member of Canada’s National Women’s Development Team that won a gold medal at the 2015 Nations Cup (formerly known as the Meco Cup).

NWHL

In July 2015, Bram, a free agent, signed her first professional contract with the Buffalo Beauts of the National Women's Hockey League for the 2015-16 season.

Personal

Her sister Bailey Bram, the older sister in the Bram family, also competed for the Mercyhurst College Lakers. After graduation Bailey competed in the Canadian Women's Hockey League; first with Brampton and then after a trade with the Calgary Inferno for the 2014-15 season.
