The SERC Wild Wings are an ice hockey team based in Villingen-Schwenningen, Germany. The team plays in the 2.Bundesliga which is the second highest German league.


History

The club was established in 1904 under the name SEC Schwenningen (Schwimm-Schwenningen und Eisclub). It changed its name several times:

1947: VfL Schwenningen. 1950: SERC 04 (Schwenninger Eis-und Rollsportclub 04). 1994: SERC Wild Wings. Since 1933, Schwenningen participated in the final round of the Bundesliga, but the club had to wait until the 1970s to return to the forefront, after stopping its activities between 1960 and 1964. In 1977, Schwenningen was promoted to the Oberliga (third division), then 2. Bundesliga in 1979, and finally the Bundesliga in 1981. Between 1981 and 2003, Schwenningen participated in the championship first division for 22 consecutive seasons.

In 2003, the team was relegated to 2. Bundesliga its current division.
