Ryan Russell (b. May 2, 1987 Caroline, Alberta) is a Canadian ice hockey player. Russell was drafted by the New York Rangers in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft (7th round, 211th overall). He is currently part of the Montreal Canadiens organization and plays for the Hamilton Bulldogs (the AHL farm team of the Canadiens). Russell has not yet played in the NHL. His twin brother Kris Russell currently plays for the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Russell played for the Kootenay Ice in the WHL (03–07), the Cincinnati Cyclones in the ECHL (07-08) and the Hamilton Bulldogs of the AHL (07– ). While with the Cyclones, he scored a series-winning shorthanded goal in overtime of Game Five to send the Cyclones into the Kelly Cup Finals. They went on to win the Kelly Cup in six games.
