Russell John Fitzgerald (born October 4, 1972) is a former professional ice hockey center. He was drafted in the second round, 38th overall, by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 1991 NHL Entry Draft.
He played four years with the Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs (1991-1995) and then turned pro in 1995-96 in the Penguins' system. Fitzgerald played twenty-five games in the National Hockey League with the Penguins in the 1994–95 and 1995–96 seasons. He scored two goals and two assists.
In 1996 training camp he suffered a knee injury that kept him out of the 1995-96 and most of the 1996-97 seasons. He came back in 1997 with the Cleveland Lumberjacks.
In 2000-01 he won the John Cullen Award (comeback player of the year) with the Manitoba Moose. Fitzgerald played two more seasons, mostly in Germany, and then retired in 2003.
