Rushan Rafikov (born on May 15, 1995 in Saratov) is a Russian ice hockey defenceman. He is currently playing with the Lokomotiv Yaroslavl of the KHL. Rafikov was selected by the Calgary Flames in the seventh round (187th overall) of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft.
Club career[]
Rafikov played junior hockey with the Lokomotiv Yaroslavl organisation. He played with the Loko Yaroslavl of the MHL in 2011 - 2014.
In the 2014-15 season, he played mostly with the HK Ryazan of the VHL. He played there 35 regular season games and 5 play-off games in this season and he also played 2 regular season games and 14 play-off games with the Loko Yaroslavl of the MHL. In October 2014, Rafikov was selected the VHL prospect of the month.
Rafikov made his KHL debut during the 2015–16 KHL season.[1] He played 16 games with the Lokomotiv Yaroslavl of the KHL in this season. He also played 4 games with the HK Ryazan of the VHL and 3 regular season games and 15 play-off games with the Loko Yaroslavl of the MHL and won the Kharlamov Cup. In the end of the season, he playe 17 games with the Admiral Vladivostok of the KHL.
Since 2016, Rafikov plays with the Lokomotiv Yaroslavl of the KHL. He is currently signed until the end of the 2020-21 season.
International career[]
Rafikov played for Russia at the 2012 World U17 Hockey Challenge winning the gold medal, at the 2013 World U18 Championship and at the 2015 World Junior Championship winning the silver medal.
