Rickmeagher

Rick Joseph Meagher (born on November 4, 1953 in Belleville, Ontario) is a former Canadian ice hockey player. He played with the Montreal Canadiens, Hartford Whalers, and New Jersey Devils. He won the Selke Trophy in 1990 with the St. Louis Blues.

He was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Canadiens in 1977 after four years with Boston University. He spent most of his time with the Nova Scotia Voyageurs of the American Hockey League until he was traded to the Hartford Whalers in 1980. Meagher was subsequently traded to the New Jersey Devils in 1982.

A trade to the St. Louis Blues in 1985 enabled him to become an NHL star. He was known as a defensive centre with the Blues.

In 691 NHL games, Meagher scored 144 goals and 165 assists. He retired in 1991.
