Richard Shulmistra (born on April 1, 1971 in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada) is a retired ice hockey goaltender that has played in the NCAA, American Hockey League, National Hockey League, International Hockey League, United States Hockey League, and the Deutsche Eishockey Liga.
He played college hockey for the Miami University RedHawks from 1990 to 1994, making the CCHA All-star team in 1993. Picked by the Quebec Nordiques in the 1992 NHL Supplemental Draft, he spent the three seasons (1995-1997) in the minor pros.
In 1997 the New Jersey Devils signed him as a free agent and he got into his first NHL game in 1997-98. However he returned to the minors until 1999-2000 when he played one game for the Florida Panthers, with whom he had signed as a free agent.
In 2001 he joined the Eisbären Berlin in Germany for two seasons. His last season was 2003-04 with the Adler Mannheim team.
