Richard Greenop (born February 24, 1989) is a former Canadian professional ice hockey player who played in the AHL, ECHL, OHL and OPJHL, most notably for the Toronto Marlies of the AHL.
Playing Career[]
Greenop was mostly noted in junior for being an enforcer, getting a combined total of exactly 499 penalty minutes during 3 seasons playing for the Windsor Spitfires of the OHL. He was drafted by the Chicago Blackhawks in the 6th round, 156th overall in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft by the Chicago Blackhawks, but never signed with them. He signed with the Toronto Maple Leafs as a free agent in 2009, He spent 2 seasons between the Maple Leafs AHL affiliate, the Toronto Marlies, and the Reading Royals of the ECHL. Greenop retired once his contract with the Maple Leafs expired in 2011, Never getting to play a game in the NHL.
