Rich Costello (born June 27, 1963 in Framingham, Massachusetts) is a retired American professional ice hockey player. He played 12 games in the NHL with the Toronto Maple Leafs.

He played for Providence College from 1981 to 1983 after being chosen 37th overall by the Philadelphia Flyers in the 1981 NHL Entry Draft. He played with the United States men's national ice hockey team in 1983-84.

The Flyers traded him to the Toronto Maple Leafs in 1982 as part of the Darryl Sittler trade. Costello played in the Leafs organization from 1984 to 1987 but only got into 12 games in the NHL, scoring 2 goals and 2 assists.

In 1987 Costello took his game to Europe and played in Finland, Switzerland, and Germany. He retired in 1991 after playing for the Albany Choppers.
