28-29Vics

1928-29 Regina Vics

The Regina Victorias (often shortened to Vics) were both a senior and junior team in Regina, Saskatchewan.

Senior Team[]

History[]

The Victorias won the Allan Cup in their first season in 1913-14.

They lost their league and the Allan Cup in 1914-15. After winning their league the next season, they lost a challenge for the Allan Cup in 1915-16.

The Victorias took a break in 1917-18 because of World War I.

After the war they won the Saskatchewan Senior Championship in 1918-19, 1920-21, 1921-22, 1924-25, 1925-26, and 1928-29. They only managed to make the Allan Cup final once - in 1921-22.

Their fortunes went steadily downhill. The Victorias faced competition in their own city from the Regina Aces. Eventually the Aces won out and the Victorias folded in 1938.

A combined team (Regina Vic-Aces) played in the 1940-41 season.
