Raymond Giroux (born July 20, 1976 in North Bay, Ontario) is an ice hockey defenceman currently playing in Russia for Traktor Chelyabinsk.
He was selected 202nd by the Philadelphia Flyers in the 1994 NHL Entry Draft but elected to go to Yale University instead. Giroux had an excellent career at the school.
The Flyers traded him to the New York Islanders in 1998 and Giroux turned pro with their farm team Lowell Lock Monsters that year. The Isles called him up the next season for 14 games.
He never made it as an NHL regular and bounced between the minors and the NHL (with a year in Finland in 2001) until 2005. Giroux then left for Russia that year where he has played ever since.
