Radim Šalda (born on February 18, 1999 in Pardubice) is a Czech ice hockey defenceman currently playing with the HK Hradec Králové of the Tipsport Extraliga. He was selected 206th overall in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft by the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Club career[]

Šalda began playing junior hockey with the Královští Lvi Hradec Králové (later HK Hradec Králové) organisation. He made his senior debut during the 2016-17 season when he played 2 relegation games on loan with the HC Stadion Litoměřice of the WSM Liga while he also played 3 regular season games and 6 play-off games with the HK Hradec Králové under-18 team and 35 games with the HK Hradec Králové under-20 team.

In 2017, Šalda moved to North America in order to play with the Saint John Sea Dogs of the QMJHL. In the 2017-18 season, Šalda made it into the QMJHL All-Rookie Team.

In the next season played Šalda with the Rimouski Océanic of the QMJHL.

In 2019, Šalda returned to Czechia and began playing with the HK Hradec Králové of the Tipsport Extraliga. In his first fully senior season played Šalda 37 regular season games and 2 play-off games with the HK Hradec Králové of the Tipsport Extraliga and also 9 games on loan with the HC Stadion Litoměřice of the Chance Liga (formerly WSM Liga).

In the 2020-21 season played Šalda only with the HK Hradec Králové of the Tipsport Extraliga. He is currently signed with the HK Hradec Králové until the end of the 2022-23 season with a one-year option.

International career[]

Šalda represented Czechia at the 2015 World U17 Hockey Challenge, 2016 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament (winning there a gold medal), 2017 World U18 Championship and at the 2018 and 2019 World Junior Championships.
