Radek Dvořák (born March 9, 1977, Tábor, Czechoslovakia) is a professional ice hockey player with the Florida Panthers of the National Hockey League.
Playing career
He was drafted in the first round of the 1995 NHL Entry Draft, 10th overall, by the Panthers. He has played for the Florida Panthers, New York Rangers and Edmonton Oilers. He was traded to the San Jose Sharks but was traded by the Sharks to the Rangers the very same day.
Dvořák played in the NHL the very next season, and spent four and a half seasons playing for Florida, before being involved in a three-way trade for Mike Vernon. Dvořák ended up on the New York Rangers, and the following season (2000/01), he scored a career-high 30 goals and 67 points playing on a line with fellow Czechs Petr Nedvěd and Jan Hlaváč. Dvořák was traded to the Edmonton Oilers at the 2002/03 NHL trade deadline, along with Cory Cross, for Anson Carter and Ales Pisa. During the playoffs of the 2002/03 NHL season, Dvořák made a highlight reel play in which he skated from end to end scoring a game-winning goal.
Dvořák returned to his native Czech Republic for the 2004–05 NHL lockout, and has represented his country at world championships, and the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, Utah.
In the 2005–06 NHL season, Dvořák was part of the Edmonton Oilers Stanley Cup Finalists team. On September 14, 2006, Dvořák signed a contract with the St. Louis Blues as an unrestricted free agent.
On July 1, 2009, Dvorak resigned with the Panthers for two-years and $3.4 million.
