Philipp Lukas (born on December 4, 1979 in Wien) is a retired Austrian ice hockey center and currently the assistant coach of the Austrian National Team. His brother Robert also played hockey.

Club career[]

Lukas began his career with the CE Wien of the Austrian Bundesliga in the 1996-97 season.

In 1997 - 1999 played Lukas with the Wiener EV of the Austrian Bundesliga.

In the 1999-00 season played Lukas with the VEU Feldkirch of the IEL and of the Austrian Bundesliga.

Since 2000, Lukas was playing with the EHC Linz of the Austrian Bundesliga (later EBEL) until his retirment in 2018. In 2007 - 2018, he served as the team's captain. In 2003, Lukas became the Austrian Bundesliga champion with the EHC Linz and in the 2011-12 season led Lukas the EHC Linz to the EBEL title.

International career[]

Lukas played with the Austrian National Team at the 1996 and 1997 European U18 Championships "Pool C" (recording the most assists (7) among all players at the 1996 tournament and being named the Top Player on Team at the 1997 tournament), 1997 and 1999 World Junior Championships "Pool C", 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2007 and 2011 World Championships (being named one of the top 3 players on the Austrian squad at the 2011 tournament) and at the 2008 World Championship Division I (winning there gold).

As the assistant coach, he participated with the Austrian National Junior Team at the 2019 and 2020 World Junior Championships Division IA (winning gold at the 2020 tournament) and at the 2021 World Junior Championship.
