Petteri Lindbohm (born on September 23, 1993 in Helsinki) is a Finnish professional ice hockey defenceman who is currently playing with the Jokerit of the KHL. He was selected by the St. Louis Blues in the 6th round (176th overall) of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.
Club career[]
Lindbohm began his junior career with the Kiekko-Vantaa organisation. In the 2010-11 season, he played junior hockey with the Blues organisation and in 2011, he transfered to the Jokerit organisation.
Lindbohm made his senior debut in the 2011-12 season playing 5 games on loan with the Kiekko-Vantaa of the Mestis. In this season, he also played 41 regular season games and 12 play-off games with the Jokerit under-20 team.
In the next season, he played 35 games with the Jokerit of the SM-liiga. He also played 2 games with the junior team of the Jokerit and another 6 games on loan with the Kiekko-Vantaa of the Mestis.
In the 2013-14 season, Lindbohm played his last 3 games with the junior team of the Jokerit. He played 18 games with the Jokerit of the Liiga (formerly SM-liiga) and 13 games on loan with the Kiekko-Vantaa of the Mestis. Then he was loaned to the Ässät of the Liiga for the remainder of the season. He finished there the season with 19 games played.
On March 21, 2014, he signed a three-year, entry-level deal with the St. Louis Blues organisation.[1]
In the 2014-15 season, his first in North America, Lindbohm primarily played with the Blues' AHL affiliate, the Chicago Wolves, appearing in 53 games plus another 5 games in the play-offs. Lindbohm also skated in 23 games for the St. Louis Blues of the NHL, scoring 2 goals and 3 points. Lindbohm scored his first career NHL goal on February 20, 2015 in a 5-1 victory over the Boston Bruins.[2]
In the 2015-16 season, he appeared in 10 games with the St. Louis Blues of the NHL and in 43 games with the Chicago Wolves of the AHL.
In the next season, he played only in the 7 games with the St. Louis Blues of the NHL and in 52 regular season games and 9 play-offs games with the Chicago Wolves of the AHL.
On September 11, 2017, the St. Louis Blues organisation re-signed Lindbohm as a restricted free agent to a one-year, two-way contract.[3] He was re-assigned to continue his tenure with the Chicago Wolves in the 2017-18 season.
On July 27, 2018, as an restricted free agent from the Blues, Lindbohm left North America and signed a one-year contract in Switzerland worth CHF 700,000 with the Lausanne HC of the NL.[4] Right after the 2019 World Championship, Lindbohm was signed by the Lausanne HC to a one-year contract extension worth CHF 750,000.[5] In the 2019-20 season, he was the defenceman who scored most goals (3) in the CHL. On May 20, 2020, the Lausanne HC announced that Lindbohm would not return to the team for the 2020-21 season.[6]
On July 30, 2020, Lindbohm agreed to a one-year contract with the EHC Biel-Bienne to remain in the NL for the 2020-21 season.[7]
In 2021, Lindbohm signed a two-year contract with the Jokerit of the KHL.
International career[]
Lindbohm participated as a member of the Finnish National Team at the 2011 World U18 Championship, 2013 World Junior Championship (being there named one of the top 3 players on the Finnish team) and at the 2019 World Championship (winning there gold).
