Petr Rosol was born in Znojmo, Czechoslovakia on June 20, 1964. He played on the Bronze Medal winning Czechoslovakia team at the 1992 Olympics. He played as well in the 1992 Olympics.
Rosol also played in the 1984 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships and in the 1984 and 1987 Canada Cups. As well he played in the 1985, 1986, 1987, 1991, 1992, and 1993 World Championships.
The Calgary Flames chose him 75th overall in the 1984 NHL Entry Draft but he never played in the NHL. His playing time was spent in Czechoslovakia, the Czech Republic, Switzerland, Italy and Germany. He retired in 2004.
