Petersturgeon

Peter Sturgeon (born February 12, 1954 in Whitehorse, Yukon) is a retired NHL player. He was drafted by the Boston Bruins with the 36th overall pick in the 1974 NHL Entry Draft. He went on to play in 6 NHL games, all with the Colorado Rockies.

He played junior with the Kitchener Rangers. Sturgeon spent several years in the Boston Bruins' farm system before signing as a free agent with the Rockies. He played six games over two seasons with Colorado, scoring one assist, but was relegated back to the minors.

Sturgeon retired in 1982 after spending a year with the senior Georgetown Raiders.

In 1998 he was hired as the first coach of the Mississauga IceDogs of the Ontario Hockey League. He was fired in mid-season after the team compiled a 1-21-1 record.
