Peter Sidorkiewicz (b. June 29th 1963 in Dąbrowa Białostocka, Poland) is a former professional goaltender who played in the National Hockey League for the Hartford Whalers, the Ottawa Senators and the New Jersey Devils.
Sidorkiewicz played his junior hockey with the Oshawa Generals following his arrival to Canada with his family. Drafted by the Washington Capitals in the 1981 NHL Entry Draft, Sidorkiewicz never got the opportunity to play for the Caps; they traded him to Hartford in 1985 with Dean Evason for David A. Jensen on March 12th.
After spending a lot of time with the Binghamton Whalers, he made his NHL debuts in 1987-88, playing a single game. The next season, the difficult start of the season by Mike Liut gave him a chance to play more often. He played in about half of the games that season and had the chance to take part to his first playoffs games. He was later named to the 1989 NHL All-Rookie Team.
Peter Sidorkiewicz was given the starting job with the Whalers the following season when Liut was traded to Washington. He played two more seasons as the Whalers' starter before being claimed by the Senators in the 1992 NHL Expansion Draft. He would stay for a single season with the newborn team, participating to his first and only NHL All-Star Game, before being dealt to the Devils on June 20th 1993 for Craig Billington, Troy Mallette and a fourth round draft pick. He would play only four games with the Devils over 5 seasons, spending most of his time in the AHL and IHL before retiring in 1998.
Following retirement he was assistant coach with the Erie Otters of the Ontario Hockey League; he took the head coach role in June 2006.
