Paris Titans |
The Paris Titans formerly the Paris Mounties are a Canadian Junior "C" hockey team based in Paris, Ontario, Canada.
When they were originally a junior C team, they were members of the Midwestern Junior C Hockey League of the Ontario Hockey Association until the 2016-17 season when that league came the Pat Dougherty Division of the Central Conference of the Provincial Junior Hockey League.
The team was a member of the ACH Senior AA G-League upon the announcement of a transfer of operating levels within the Ontario Hockey Association and the franchise rights for the Junior C team were attempted to be sold. When the Senior league did not come to fruition the team would return to Junior C for the 2022-23 season.
Junior C History[]
The Mounties came about in the wake of the folding of the Intermediate "B" Paris '29ers.
After twenty-one seasons in the Niagara & District Junior C Hockey League, the Ontario Hockey Association realigned and placed the Mounties in the Midwestern Junior C Hockey League.
Summer of 2016 the eight junior "C" hockey leagues in Southern Ontario amalgamated into a single Provincial Junior Hockey League with the individual leagues becoming divisions. The Midwestern Junior league re-branded to the Pat Doherty Division.
Senior Team[]
On June 21, 2021 the team was announced as the first member of the ACH Senior AA G-League which is a Senior AA league and that Todd Wood, the owner of the organization would be transferring over the operations to the Senior AA level from Junior C and that the Junior C team is up for sale and relocation.[1]
- On March 15, 2022 the PJHL would announce the return of the Paris Mounties to the league's Doherty Division. The team will play out of the Brant Sports Complex in Paris, Ontario.[2] No word on the status of the Senior team.
The Mounties would be sold after the 2022-23 playing season. The new owners would announce on June 9, 2023 that they were going to rename the franchise the Paris Titans.[3]
