Pacific Coast Senior League[]
History[]
In 1951 the Okanagan Mainline League split into two leagues - the Okanagan Senior League and the Pacific Coast Senior League.
This league carried on for only one season - 1951-52. The costs of travel for Nanaimo (which is on Vancouver Island) were far too high. Also the Vancouver team did not draw well. It had to compete against the Vancouver Canucks and the New Westminster Royals of the Pacific Coast Hockey League.
The league was actually lucky to finish the one season as the Kerrisdale Monarchs started off the season and the owner of the team would announce to the team after a November 24, 1951 game that due to financial losses the team had incurred and the health issues it was causing him the team would be folding. Over the next week the team was sold and would be renamed the Vancouver Wheelers.
