The Almonte Jr. Sharpshooters are a junior hockey team located in Almonte, Ontario. The team was announced on April 18, 2016. The team was part of the Canadian Premier Junior Hockey League which started play in the fall of 2016.
The team was originally scheduled to be called the Ottawa Sharpshooters and be based out of the Cavanagh Sensplex in Ottawa. However, the team was listed as relocating some time in June to Almonte which is located about about 50km (30 miles) west of Ottawa.

A team named the Ottawa Sharpshooters appears on the National College Prospects Hockey League website as being a member of that league in July of 2016 but has the same rink information as the Almonte Jr. Sharpshooters. This team appears to be a second team that the organization will be supporting for the 2016-17 season as both names and leagues appear prominently on the organization's website. The OSS team will be the U-18 developmental team for the Almonte team.
The team was removed from the Canadian Premier Junior Hockey League in March of 2017 for unspecified reasons. The team would replace the Sharpshooters in the National College Prospects Hockey League for the 2017-18 season. However, due to the folding of the NCPHL in September of 2017 the team would rejoin the CPJHL for the 2017-18 season. and the Ottawa Sharpshooters were removed.
The Ottawa Sharpshooters were accepted into the Greater Metro Junior A Hockey League for the 2018-19 season in an announcement made on April 13, 2018.
On January 3, 2020 the league announced that the Ottawa Sharpshooters were removed from the league schedule "due to the ownership folding their operation"[1]
