Playing career 2009–present


Ondřej Beránek (born on December 21, 1995 in Havlíčkův Brod) is a Czech ice hockey left/right winger currently playing with the HC Energie Karlovy Vary of the Tipsport Extraliga.

Club career[]

Beránek began playing junior hockey with the HC Havlíčkův Brod organisation.

In 2012, Beránek moved to the HC Energie Karlovy Vary organisation. In the 2012-13 season, Beránek played 36 regular season games and 7 play-off games with the HC Karlovy Vary under-18 team and also 6 games with the Energie Karlovy Vary of the MHL.

In the 2013-14 season, Beránek played 49 regular season games and 9 play-off games with the Energie Karlovy Vary of the MHL and also made his senior debut by playing one Tipsport Extraliga qualification game with the HC Energie Karlovy Vary of the Tipsport Extraliga.

In the 2014-15 season, Beránek played only with the Energie Karlovy Vary of the MHL.

During the next season, Beránek played 20 games with the HC Karlovy Vary under-20 team, 1 game with the HC Energie Karlovy Vary of the Tipsport Extraliga, 16 regular season games, 10 play-off games and 7 Tipsport Extraliga qualification games on loan with the HC Dukla Jihlava of the 1. Liga and 10 games on loan with the HC Baník Sokolov of the 2. Liga. In this season, Beránek became the 1. Liga champion with the HC Dukla Jihlava.

In the 2016-17 season, Beránek played 12 regular season games, 6 relegation games and 12 Tipsport Extraliga qualification games with the HC Energie Karlovy Vary but he could not help the team to stay in the Tipsport Extraliga for the next season. Instead, the team was demoted into the WSM Liga (formerly 1. Liga) for the 2017-18 season. In the 2016-17 season, Beránek also played 40 games on loan with the SK Kadaň of the WSM Liga.

In the next season, Beránek helped the HC Energie Karlovy Vary to promote back into the Tipsport Extraliga from the WSM Liga for the 2018-19 season.

Since then, Beránek plays with the HC Energie Karlovy Vary of the Tipsport Extraliga. He is currently signed there until the end of the 2021-22 season.
