The Northern Premier Hockey League formerly the Eastern Ontario Super Hockey League is a men's senior hockey league founded for the 2019-20 season.

2020-21 [ ]
a possible team to be based out of the Ingredion Centre in Prescott . was mentioned but did not come to be for 2019-20. Vankleek Hill was originally mentioned but later dropped out. Akwesasne has showed interest in joining for the 2020-21 season (along with four other potential expansion teams). The league would later announce its intent to play with six teams for the 2020-21 and 2021-22 seasons and to eight teams for the 2022-23 season.
Membership Changes for 2020-21 [ ]
The league would end up cancelling its 2020-21 season around January 21 due to the COVID-19 pandemic .
2021-22 [ ]
On May 3rd the league announced the addition of a new team in the Municipality of Tweed .[ 1] On May 18th it was announced that the team would take the name Tweed Oil Kings as a tribute to the Tweed BP Oil Kings , who won the All-Ontario Intermediate C Championship for the 1975-76 season.[ 2]
On July 13, 2021 the league would announce that the Pontiac Sr Comets would have to sit out the season due to uncertainty over the arena they were planning on playing in that may not be able to open due to local restriction.
2022-23 [ ]
2023-24 [ ]
The Pontiac Sr Comets are announced as returning to the league for the 2023-24 season. The team would end out opting out of playing in the league when the team was voted into playing in the West Conference of the league and objected to the additional travel.[ 3]
On January 21, 2024 the league announced that the Centre Hastings Ice Miners were terminated from the league. The team last three games of the season would be recorded as 1-0 forfeit losses. Apparently, the team would have been attempting to relocate the team for the last three games of the season; but, the league voted 10-2 to terminate the franchise's membership in the league.[ 5]

On April 26, 2025 the league announced that it would be renamed the Northern Premier Hockey League.[ 10]
